Going to the 2025 Daegu Buddhist Culture Expo

 I visited the Buddhist Culture Expo for the first time in 16 years. There were 169 booths, and despite the overcast weather, it was bustling with people. This expo allowed dogs for the first time.

This booklet covers the basic doctrines of Buddhism. It serves as educational material for those who wish to become monks.

I had hoped to see a picture frame maker, but was disappointed when there wasn't one.

Aside from that, there was a wide variety of items.

There was even a snack bar. There was a booth where female monks prepared and sold various dishes. There were plenty of snacks, but I was mostly content to just watch the exhibits and listen to the lectures by the senior monks.

There was a lecture in the afternoon, and the concept of self-observation knowledge was impressive. It's a way to observe and reflect on your emotional fluctuations objectively from a distance.

You can analyze yourself more objectively.

And another monk explained that your original, pure heart and your greedy mind are the same. They just appear in different forms.

The vendors handed out food samples. I also saw monks from Taiwan and China.

The merchandise that interpreted Buddhism in a modern way was unique. Buddha DJing, Buddha reborn as a cartoon, etc.
Other religions are also experiencing a decline in young believers, leading them to explore novel ideas.
